Welcome to the one-year celebration of our little slice of the internet! Hopefully you’ve learned and grown as much as I have. And it’s all thanks to you for getting us here! What brought you here? Comment below!

For the first few months of writing, I was lucky to see 50 people open my emails, mostly friends and family. But thanks to you, websites that promote other newsletters (like Inbox Reads), The Good Trade and Substack, I consistently have a few hundred reading each issue! :) It’s fun to know my silly little writing can make an impact.

I thought I’d share some fun stats and demographics about G&S readers! Readers come from 65 different countries and 6 of the 7 continents (surprise surprise, no one from Antarctica). You have also generated over 300 subscriptions for various other newsletters we enjoy. Comment below your other favorite newsletters here on Substack or elsewhere!

If you didn’t know, I started Green & Salty because my eco anxiety was consuming me, and I wanted/needed to create some positive impact to counter it. I’ve always enjoyed writing and consider myself pretty critical about certain things (which make me salty), leading me to start Green & Salty. I’m pretty proud that now when you search “green & salty” the Grinch x pistachios ad is not the first result! Sometimes I lack the momentum and topic ideas to deliver thought-provoking, informative issues that I’d like to, but I hope regardless they encourage you to make and share sustainable actions in your life.
