No. 9: How to sustainably declutter clothing + more
Note: some companies charge a fee (unfortunately)
Hi pals! A few changes to note. One, last week’s issue went up a day early, completely on accident, in case anyone didn’t see my comment. Two, I will be permanently housing a good climate news section each week to keep us all optimistic. Also, my heart goes out to anyone in a heatwave, I’m so sorry!!! 🫶

A great add-on to issue no. 7!
Monkeypox declared global health emergency by WHO as cases surge - Anyone else scared?? I literally just recovered from my 1st case of Covid - fortunately it was mild - but I just wish these things were actually properly addressed!!!
Also ~ this ~ and you read that right, you can be infected by touching someone that was previously infected in the last 3-18 months!!!! Via @VioletEglantine
Me, but for school :/
Good climate news! <3
The style may vary each week, but I hope it helps! And please check them all out, your mind will thank you (and so will I)!
Oh, and Biden recognized our climate crisis! (A small step, but at least we’re somehow combatting Manchin…)

Wanted to share a few things, and feel free to do so as well in the comments!
I ordered a [the large] mystery box from Ethique! It’s just a PFJ thing and allowed me to try their products for half the price (literally). Picture below, but a spoiler because it’s a mystery box.
So far I’ve used the lip balm (love it, works smoothly) and made the hand soap from the concentrate (great lather and smell). Everything is vegan, cruelty free, palm oil free, Ethique is based in NZ, climate positive, B Corp certified, and 1% for the planet. AND EVERYTHING SMELLS SO GOOD!!!
2. I recently emailed a company, Schmidt’s (natural deodorant) to kindly suggest more sustainable packaging. The emails are below.
I followed this template.
They responded in 21 hours! Lyndsay seemed friendly, but I didn’t feel relieved or invested in the future of Schmidt’s. Sustainability just doesn’t seem to be a priority for them. Luckily for me, there’s brands like Ethique, Wild, and Hey Humans that does!
To make matters worse, I received a follow-up from their parent company, which was none other than…
Unilever. Needless to say, (although I’m still glad I emailed), I don’t see myself supporting Schmidt’s. Again.
Wrap-up
Getting the warning this is near the email length limit… Hope you LOLed at this issue! (Learned Optimized Lessened [eco anxiety]) And remember, don’t choose nonrenewable alternatives that will outlive you.
